🌟 What Is a Bachelor's Degree?

A bachelor's degree is an undergraduate qualification that develops advanced knowledge and skills in a chosen field. Many programmes take around three to four years, although duration varies by discipline and institution. Admission generally requires a recognised pre-university qualification or another accepted entry route, together with any required subject grades and English proficiency. Completing a Foundation, A-Level, STPM, diploma or equivalent does not guarantee entry to every degree; students must meet the selected university's progression and admission requirements.

🗣️ English Proficiency Requirements

✅

Option A — If You Have an Accepted English Certificate

International students must meet their selected Bachelor's programme's English requirements and provide evidence accepted for the applicable EMGS Student Pass process.

• IELTS Academic or another accepted IELTS format. • TOEFL — subject to accepted test type and score. • PTE Academic, where accepted. • MUET, where accepted. • Cambridge English qualifications on the current accepted list. • Other English evidence currently accepted by EMGS and the institution.
Score requirements: No single English score applies to every degree. Confirm the minimum score, accepted test format and certificate validity with the university and EMGS.
📘

Option B — If You Do Not Have IELTS

IELTS is not the only possible test, but applicants must still satisfy the applicable university and Student Pass English requirements.

1. Ask whether TOEFL, PTE Academic, MUET or another currently accepted test can be used. 2. Check whether the university offers an English preparation course. 3. Ask whether conditional admission is available and what conditions must be met. 4. Confirm whether previous English-medium study qualifies for a formally accepted exemption. 5. Obtain written confirmation of the English evidence required for the EMGS VAL application.
Important: An English preparation course, conditional offer or university exemption does not automatically replace English evidence required for the EMGS Visa Approval Letter (VAL) process. Missing required evidence may delay processing and affect eligibility for a Student Pass covering the full course duration. Confirm your route before paying fees or booking travel.
